Dr. Melissa Kuser is a board-certified naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist committed to helping patients discover and achieve optimum health. By blending modern research and ancient therapies, she offers patients truly holistic healthcare which addresses the root cause of disease.
She believes strongly in the body’s innate wisdom to constantly strive for balance. Using therapies that support this natural tendency, she empowers and respects the body. By educating patients at every step of their journey, she empowers and respects the person.
Dr. Kuser graduated from Princeton University with a degree in English literature and later earned her Naturopathic Doctor (ND) degree and Masters of Acupuncture at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR, with a focus in cardiology, endocrinology, and women's health. Inspired to truly integrate mind and body in her practice, she completed an additional 2-year mentorship in five-element acupuncture and advanced training in homeopathy through the New England School of Homeopathy.
Passionate about offering a new model of holistic cardiac medicine that addresses both the physical and the emotional heart, Dr. Kuser is pursuing advanced certification in Naturopathic Cardiology. She treats a wide range of conditions including high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, chest pain, palpitations, arrhythmias, elevated cholesterol, and enjoys educating all patients about primary cardiovascular prevention.
Dr. Kuser also provides comprehensive women’s health care from adolescence to post-menopause. Using the body-centered therapies of Mayan abdominal massage and Holistic Pelvic Care ™, she enjoys guiding women into better relationship with the beauty of their feminine form.
First and foremost, Dr. Kuser is a loving mother to 2 beautiful daughters. Having lived her early years as an adventurer, she is enjoying the process of growing roots and building sustainable community in Portland, Oregon.
